2nd Notices & All Other Subsequent Notices from Excavators will be Processed 24/7
The decision was made at the November 2020 Board of Directors Meeting to begin processing 2nd Notices after hours, on weekends and holidays. This is a result of excavators being able to set their excavation start date on a non-business day. This notice serves as an opportunity for you to assess the handling of these requests after hours.
What is a 2nd or Subsequent Notice?
- 2nd Notice: Notice of a locate request when the excavator states an OKIE811 member has not marked or provided a response prior to excavation date/time of a normal request but is still within 10 business days of the excavation date.
- Subsequent Notice: Notice of a locate request when the excavator states a OKIE811 member has not marked or provided response and has waited 24 hours since the 2nd Notice but is still within 10 business days of the original/updated request.
Please note: In accordance with the law, operators are required to locate or mark approximate location or communicate no conflict prior to date and time the work is scheduled to begin. Your prompt response to locate requests will mitigate the need for excavators to request a 2nd or 3rd notice.
