This month OKIE811 will begin rolling out the automation of the emergency short notice callouts through a service called Vocal Notify. Emergency short notice call outs are made to notify members of locate requests with a dig time of 24 hours or less. These calls are in addition to your electronic method of receiving locate requests.
You will continue to receive phone calls for emergency short notice locate requests. However, when you answer the call, you will hear an automated recording that will read your locate request information to you, just like our Customer Service Representatives do now.
You will be notified prior to your organization being switched to the automated service. For this automated process to work effectively, the number we have on file must go straight to an individual or an individual’s voicemail.
Vocal notify cannot navigate through phone menus such as:
- Dialing extensions
- Pressing options in a phone tree, IVR, or ACD, etc.
- Recorded greetings or announcements
If your current contact information on file includes a phone menu, please provide a phone number to directly reach an individual to ensure effective delivery of these emergency short notice calls.
Will the Information I Receive Change?
The automated recording will read you the same information you receive now. Including repeating the ticket number 3 times during the approximate 1-minute phone call.
